The City of Plano was founded in 1873. European and Native American pioneers settled the area in the 1840s prior to the arrival of the Houston and Central Texas Railway. Its 2022 population was 293,189 making it the 9th largest city in Texas. Plano is known for being the largest city in Collin County, Legacy Business Park, its status of being an exceptionally well-ran progressive city, and exceptional public schools.
