The City of Celina was founded in 1876. It was originally settled upon the arrival of the St. Louis, San Francisco, and Texas Railway in 1902. Its 2022 Population was 19,952. Celina is known for hometown roots and value, the Celina Bobcats, the Historic District of Downtown Celina. Major employers are Celina ISD and local retailers. Celina is home to local fare dining, Historic Downtown Celina Square, Eden Hill Winery , Cherry’s Antiquibles. Celina has several beautiful parks known as Old Celina Park, Founders Station Park, and Preston Streams Park. Students in Celina attend Celina ISD (2,962 students); some areas are in Prosper ISD. Celina is also home to Collin College Celina Campus, and medical needs will be served by Methodist Celina Medical Center (projected opening in early 2025).
